It’s Food and Drink Day!

Today’s Activity: Hack a box of cake mix.

Feeling like making a cake and have a box of mix sitting in your pantry, but want something a little different? You don’t have to follow the directions. Here are more than a dozen ways to change up a box cake. The classic midcentury “7-Up cake” trick (you can do it from scratch or grab a box of lemon cake mix and swap in 7-Up for water) is a tried and true favorite. Years ago I made one and my roommates ate ALL OF IT before I got home, save a tiny slice about a quarter inch thick. How thoughtful of them.
