Day 151: Shift your perspective

It’s Picture Day!

Today’s Activity: Try tilt-shift photography.

It can make things appear to be tiny models of themselves. This is called the “diorama illusion” and you can create it in post on your phone by choosing any one of a whole host of apps that support it — it’s even built into Instagram’s photo editor. The illusion works best with camera angles and subjects that would be believable for miniatures, like looking down onto traffic. People are less ideal subjects as they’re more obviously real.
