Day 137: Shooting stars
It’s Picture Day!
Today’s Activity: Try to photograph Comet NEOWISE.
You’re probably going to need more than just your phone for this one.
Here’s a guide to how and where to see the comet. It’ll likely be visible through the end of the month. Bring your binoculars for a better view.
Here’s a good round-up of comet-photography tips for different kinds of cameras and lenses. It’s not just about the long exposure: make sure you pick a good place to shoot from — the darker the better.
Don’t worry if you miss it. You’ll only need to wait 6,800 years to see it again.
