Day 87: Documentary evidence
It’s Picture Day!
Today’s Activity: Learn how to film a protest.
If you’re heading out to the streets to make your voice heard, and you’re planning to record or stream video, you can gather more impactful footage if you think like a documentary filmmaker (though you may not want to bring so much gear — these guidelines are written for pros). WITNESS offers even more in-depth guidance.
It’s important to know your rights and consider your use of tech. There are also dedicated apps like the ACLU’s Mobile Justice tools (there’s a different app for each state) for recording incidents.
Stay safe out there. ❤️
