It’s Games and Puzzles Day!

Today’s Activity: Hide something in your house for the next residents to find.

Take inspiration from the Shinsekis, who hid a note during a 1995 bathroom renovation that came to light more than two decades later, and hide something in your place for the people who come after you. It can be personal or silly (or both!).

But maybe don’t hide your amazing tile floors?

We used Covid-19 shutdown to do projects that would’ve been inconvenient for residents regularly (street paving, park renovations etc). One project was ripping up the 1960s vinyl floor at city hall. We thought we’d find garbage but instead we found the original from 100 yrs ago

We used to live a few blocks from those surprise tile floors, in a former church rectory built in the mid-1800s. When the pipes burst in our wall one very cold winter, I was hoping to discover something cool inside. Maybe a vintage newspaper? Alas, the only thing we found was an empty Gatorade bottle.
